Wodonga Set to Welcome Queen's Baton Relay

Border and North East residents are being encouraged to attend the Queens Baton Relay as it travels through the streets of Wodonga on Thursday.

The Wodonga leg will begin at Catholic College Wodonga at 9:25am and journey through Melrose Drive before going up Brockley St with a stop at The Wodonga Senior Secondary College.

The Baton will then travel onto Beechworth Road into High Street, finishing at Junction Square for a community celebration at 10:20am.

All locals are being urged to line the streets and wave the baton on. Local schools have been busy putting together artwork to bring some flare to the event.

“This will be such an exciting day for our community as we play our part in the baton’s international journey,” Wodonga Mayor Cr Anna Speedie said.

“I encourage all our residents and businesses to get behind this historic occasion and save the date now for a morning of colour and celebration as we welcome the baton to Wodonga.”
